Professional Bodies in South Africa

90% of chiropractors in South Africa are registered with the Chiropractic Association of South Africa (CASA), which is affiliated to the World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) and subscribes to its’ standards. CASA played a pivotal role in securing the early recognition of chiropractic in South Africa through the AHPCSA Act 63 of 1982.  CASA promoted further amendments to this Act leading to the Allied Health Professions Act (protected and promoted by the Allied Health Professions Council).  As a consequence, chiropractic laws in this country are recognised to be some of the finest in the world.

Medical schemes in Southern Africa are represented by the Board of Health Funders (BHF). Practitioners registered with the BHF obtain a practice number which enables you as a patient to submit claims for treatment to your medical aid.

Dr David Peyton was trained at UJ, and is registered with the AHPCSA (#A11078), CASA (#0775) and the BHF (#0436186).
